Week 2

23 May 2014

I'm more conscious of the amount of waste I can generate in a week. Every thing meant to be thrown has to be sorted out at home first and brought out to the Garbage station at specific time. Otherwise, it won't be collected. That includes leftover food... With their cooling climate, Okaasan can collect food waste in an open container but I doubt few can endure the smell/ insects with Singapore climate.

Every household in Hokkaido has this:

I like the fact that many things in this household are handmade. I'm not talking about small scale things like installing IKEA furnitures...

Bouken no mori (Adventure forest)

No need for contractors! Location sign and BBQ site shelter are DIY

Since the first day, different parts of my body are taking turns to ache...I thought of the sedentary lifestyle I have been leading, comprising exercise. To the locals, their work has already incorporated exercise with climbing and carrying weights (construction materials). The use of bicycles is common to get to places because the nearest supermarket is an hour's ride away without a car.

Even a 93 years old Ojiisan is stronger than me:

Tanaka-san offered his help because I have no strength  -.-

Then, this is how he rest. :D
